Great little bar. They have good and tasty burgers! It's fun to go in nice weather and sit outside with the great view of Cincinnati. (Hence the name. :)

The menu was not expansive, but everything our party of 5 ordered was good. I wasn't sure what to expect as I couldn't find a website to browse prior to stopping in. The lone employee worked the bar and the grill and was super personable. A nice fellow. After we placed our order, it seemed a couple dozen more patrons rolled in and the worker really jumped into action! The environment felt like Cheers LOL. The historical pictures and paper clippings and beer artwork just felt comfortable. The view of the city--hence, the name--was gorgeous, despite the gray weather.

These burgers are amazing. I had the Goetta Chedda. It takes 20 minutes to make them properly, so be prepared, it's worth the wait though. It was delicious, well seasoned, well cooked, and the toppings ratio was on point. They claim to have the best Bloody Mary in town and they are definitely top two (Lebos is the other). Very good, simple, spicy, and well mixed. Sam though- she was the highlight. She's a lovely person in general and her enthusiasm is infectious. Plus, she runs a bar like a boss. I would 100% come back and get exactly what I had yesterday. Oh, there's a nice view or something too.

This is a nice little neighborhood dive bar. The service was great and the hamburgers were excellent. The view from the patio really makes the place special. I recommend when in the area.

This is currently one of my favorite places to go for a drink, and a delicious burger. It takes a bit of time to get the food, but it's always worth it, and the staff is always kind. I love to watch the sunset from here, and take in the views.

This is quite possibly the best "dive bar" in Cincinnati! The building looks pretty standard and unassuming from the outside but once you go in, you immediately get why it's been around so long. The views of downtown alone make it worth a visit. But also, it's clean, vibrant, and welcoming. The bartender/cook Sam was one of the nicest people I've met at a bar. She was very friendly, helpful, and greeted each person that came in with a genuine welcome. The entire time I was there, she struck up genuine conversations with people, gave awesome recommendations, and managed the whole place without skipping a beat. I was told to come here for the burgers as they were amazing. A lot of times, I doubt "best burger " claims but this one is definitely worth the hype. There's nothing fancy about it, nothing over the top about it, it's just a great tasting, slow cooked burger. This "dive bar " is wonderful and definitely worth a visit!

Five for a dive! This is a quintessential dive bar that happens to have a great view, and offers really good burgers. There were three of us on a mid afternoon Thursday, hankering for a burger. The place was literally empty - even the bartender/cook/server was away somewhere. Luckily he returned and we ordered 3 burgers and 3 beers, and ensconced ourselves on the chilly but sunny porch that has the views. I had the Lagemann burger (served on rye sandwich bread with Swiss cheese and sautéed onions); hubs had the Philly; brother had the Big Ted Burger. We decided the Big Ted looked the best but all had the same delicious burger! Served with chips. This is a place to exercise your flexibility: their fridge was down, so no bottle beer and they were out of a couple things. We still got our drinks and got fed and caught up with each other. Bonus: my brother lived up on Mt Adams years ago and we got to hear all kinds of stories, details on what was out there in that beautiful view, and even some history. We had a great time. Hope you will too!

When I told my doctor I was thinking of moving to Mount Adams, he told me he used to live there, and I had to try the City View Tavern for the best burger in Cincinnati. He warned me it was a small place, and one guy does everything...take orders, cook, deliver food, and takes your payment. Well, he was right about that! The menu is small, and everything is a burger. Even the ruben is made with a burger. I had the Big Ted. It was soooo good, even had pickle slices on it. And reasonable for $8.50. It was like a home cooked meal, except for the bag of chips served with it. And you need to be patient, cause one guy doing everything. So it takes a little while to get your food. He was very friendly...my grumpy sister ordered hers well done, and he said we cook them all the same. She replied if hers had any pink in it, she would be bringing it back to him. When he delivered it, he said "and for the lady who threatened to burn my house down if there was any pink" and plunked hers down. No pink. We left happy, and I will be back.
